Job Description

As a Payroll Manager – Global Compliance, you will take on various tasks that are critical to the success of our clients. You will be responsible for managing payroll processes, leading a team of payroll experts, and ensuring the timely and accurate execution of payroll for international clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Client Liaison: Act as the central point of contact for national and international clients regarding all payroll-related matters.
  • Team Management: Lead and support a team of up to 10 employees, providing guidance and ensuring smooth payroll accounting operations for international clients.
  • Optimization of Payroll Processes: Continuously improve payroll workflows and billing processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Social Security & Tax Expertise: Focus on resolving complex issues related to social security and income tax, ensuring compliance for clients.

Key Responsibilities

Client Management

You will be the main point of contact for national and international clients, advising them on payroll issues and helping them navigate the complexities of payroll compliance. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining strong client relationships.

Team Leadership

Lead a payroll team of approximately 10 employees, providing coaching and support. You will be responsible for the team’s professional growth and ensuring that payroll processes are executed correctly and on time.

Process Optimization

Evaluate and improve payroll processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency and ensuring that payroll runs smoothly across various jurisdictions.

Expertise in Tax & Social Security

You will bring expertise in wage tax and social security law to the team, helping clients navigate the complexities of international payroll tax obligations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for this position should have several years of experience in payroll accounting, including expertise in wage tax and social security laws. You should be comfortable leading a team and managing complex payroll projects. A strong analytical mindset, along with great communication skills in German and English, is crucial for success in this role.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Several years of experience in payroll accounting, wage tax, and social security law
  • Team management experience, with the ability to lead and develop a team
  • Training in payroll accounting or a completed degree in a related field (e.g., tax clerk, commercial training)
  • Proficiency in payroll software (preferably DATEV LODAS)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • A team-oriented mindset and a high sense of responsibility
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken

Education & Experience

  • Degree in economics, business administration, or law, or a relevant qualification such as tax clerk training
  • Experience working in payroll accounting, particularly in wage tax and social security law
  • Proven team leadership experience
  • Knowledge of DATEV LODAS or similar payroll software is preferred
