As Head of Program Promotion & Broadcast Management, you will lead a team dedicated to optimizing programming strategies, curating content, and ensuring high-quality broadcast management. This role involves strategic oversight, the use of AI technologies, and fostering collaboration across various departments.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategic Management
- Lead the Program Promotion and Broadcast Management department with personnel and budget responsibility.
- Strategically develop broadcast planning and program promotion along with Deutsche Welle’s target vision.
- Manage change processes within the department and ensure a transparent leadership style.
Broadcast and Program Management
- Plan, adjust, and provide broadcast schedules aligned with Deutsche Welle’s linear strategy.
- Curate video-on-demand formats for secondary TV usage.
- Ensure target group and platform-oriented promotion of programs with a focus on quality.
Innovation and Collaboration
- Use AI tools for selected departmental tasks, adhering to Deutsche Welle’s AI guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief, editorial units, and ad sales teams on programming strategies.
- Develop and maintain external networks (e.g., EBU, Eyes&Ears).
Training and Quality Control
- Oversee digital previews of program highlights for partners.
- Maintain consistent quality control across broadcast and promotional content.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Skills and Qualifications
- Completed university degree in media, journalism, communication studies, or a related field.
- Proficiency in visual storytelling, particularly for program promotion.
- Expertise in AI tools and familiarity with Deutsche Welle’s AI guidelines.
- Transparent leadership style with strong teamwork and management skills.
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in multimedia broadcasting or editorial roles.
- Extensive management experience, including budget and personnel oversight.
- Experience in project conception and execution.
