Job Overview
Position: Project Associate – Asia
Department: DW Academy
Location: Bonn or Berlin, Germany
Start Date: January 1, 2025, or as soon as possible
Contract Duration: Until October 31, 2027
Salary: Competitive, based on tariff agreements
This role offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to international development and media projects with Deutsche Welle (DW), a globally recognized media organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Administrative Support
- Provide administrative assistance to country teams and local partner organizations in implementing activities.
- Support the preparation and management of funding/service contracts, partner statements, receipts, and invoices.

2. Event Coordination
- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing events such as working meetings, workshops, training sessions, conferences, and delegation trips.
3. Logistics and Communication
- Handle logistics for project activities and travel management.
- Communicate with local project partners regarding administrative and logistical matters.
4. Data Management
- Maintain and update electronic archives and the knowledge management system.
- Support program reviews, revisions, and audits.
5. Financial Controlling
- Assist the project team with financial control and other related tasks.
6. Meeting Records
- Document and maintain records of meetings.
Skills and Qualifications
Education
- Completed commercial training or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience
- Prior experience in administrative support for projects, preferably in development policy or media-related projects.
- Familiarity with EU-funded projects is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
Soft Skills
- Strong organizational abilities, with a detail-oriented and independent working style.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with intercultural competence.
Language Skills
- Proficiency in German and English is required.
