Alberta Health Services is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join its Inpatient Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Spine team. This advanced practice role offers an exciting opportunity to provide care for patients with traumatic and chronic spine conditions at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton.

Job Description

As a Nurse Practitioner, you will integrate advanced clinical skills in nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe treatments for patients with spine conditions. Key Responsibilities

Clinical Practice

  • Assess and diagnose patients with traumatic and chronic spine conditions.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests to develop individualized care plans.
  • Prescribe treatments and perform clinical procedures.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and timely patient flow.

Leadership and System Optimization

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve healthcare systems.

Ideal Candidate Profile

A passionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner with advanced clinical expertise, leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in nursing from an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Licensure: Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Certifications: Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS-HCP).

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of acute care nursing experience.
  • Proven ability to adapt, evaluate, and lead within advanced practice nursing domains.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of EPIC Connect Care, Alberta NetCare, and IMPAX viewer.
  • Certifications in ACLS and TNCC.
  • Experience working with spine patient populations.
