McCain Foods is seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to drive sales and manage customer relationships in the Ruhrgebiet region. This role focuses on expanding sales, acquiring new clients, and ensuring the implementation of effective sales strategies. The Area Sales Manager will work closely with the regional sales leader and contribute to the company’s success by achieving sales targets and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales and Market Expansion

  • Drive sales and expand market share within the Ruhrgebiet region, focusing on key areas such as Dortmund, Bochum, Essen, Duisburg, and Krefeld.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase product sales to both end-users and wholesalers in the food service industry.
  • Identify and acquire new customers while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.

2. Customer Relationship Management

  • Provide top-tier customer service and support to both existing and potential clients in the assigned region.
  • Build lasting relationships with wholesalers and food service operators, ensuring continued business growth and satisfaction.

3. Regional Sales Strategy Execution

  • Collaborate with the regional sales leader to meet sales targets and execute business strategies.
  • Take ownership of the assigned region, ensuring the implementation of McCain’s overall sales strategy and plans.

4. Collaboration with Partners and Stakeholders

  • Work closely with regional wholesalers and key stakeholders to align sales strategies and ensure a unified approach to achieving sales goals.
  • Communicate and execute agreements between McCain and its customers effectively.

5. Reporting and Performance Tracking

  • Provide regular updates on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
  • Analyze sales data and propose adjustments to strategies to meet targets and address customer needs.

Required Qualifications and Experience

1. Educational Background

  • A qualification in Gastronomy, Foodservice, or a related field.
  • Additional business or commercial training is a plus.

2. Professional Experience

  • Proven experience in sales within the food service industry or wholesale food distribution.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in food service sales or a related field, preferably with direct customer interaction and territory management.
