The Bail Client Supervisor is responsible for overseeing an assigned group of clients released on bail, providing direct case management, supporting judicial processes, and liaising with community partners to help clients reintegrate successfully.

Job Description

As a Bail Client Supervisor, you will manage a caseload of clients released on bail. This role requires attending court, conducting risk assessments, verifying client information, and supporting clients throughout their bail life cycle. It involves ensuring compliance with court conditions, connecting clients with community resources, and maintaining detailed documentation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Direct Case Management Services

  • Attend bail court to complete intakes and provide information about clients to the court.
  • Conduct interviews with clients at provincial detention facilities and local courthouses.
  • Develop and implement case management plans, including setting goals and monitoring progress.
  • Maintain detailed supervision notes and daily log entries for each client.
  • Connect clients to resources like Alcoholics Anonymous, drug treatment programs, and employment opportunities.
  • Assist in preparing life skills classes and guide the judicial process.

2. Communication and Reporting

  • Meet with clients as per court requirements (daily, weekly, or monthly).
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on client progress.
  • Compile and maintain accurate case files and documentation.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all client records and update them regularly.

3. Community Networking and Partnerships

  • Liaise with court officials, police, and lawyers regarding client care.
  • Meet standards set by the Attorney General and Ontario Association of Bail Verification Support Services (OABVSS).
  • Collaborate with government and community social service providers to coordinate resources.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma in Social Services or a related field.
  • Certificates in CPR/First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (or willingness to obtain).
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and database management.
  • Strong communication skills in English (French is an asset).
  • Integrity, confidentiality, and ethical professionalism.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience working with correctional clients or within the justice system.
  • Knowledge of community resources and the Correctional Justice System (CJS).
