Job Description
As a Batcher at Cargill in Georgetown, you will play a key role in leading a team to ensure both personal and food safety standards are met. To produce chocolate paste, you will operate various production equipment, including grinders, pumps, and valves. In addition, you will be responsible for quality checks and ensuring products meet specified standards. This role also involves entering data into SAP and Excel, and ensuring proper documentation and housekeeping practices are followed.

Principal Accountabilities
1. Operating Equipment and Measuring Ingredients
- Lift and dump ingredients (bags and/or blocks) into hoppers.
- Measure ingredients accurately and document amounts and lot numbers according to production formulas.
2. Maintaining Raw Material Inventory
- Keep logs of raw material inventory and reconcile them daily to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Manage ingredient spills or scrap to ensure minimal waste.
3. Housekeeping and Safety Practices
- Maintain production areas in a clean and orderly condition, following safety regulations.
- Account for spills and manage waste appropriately to maintain a clean work environment.
4. Data Entry and Documentation
- Enter daily production data into SAP and Excel worksheets.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date to meet company standards.
5. Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks as needed to ensure the production process runs smoothly.
- Support team members in following safety procedures and ensuring product quality.
Required Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Minimum age requirement: 18 years.
- Ability to perform physical duties such as lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, kneeling, climbing, and twisting, with or without accommodation.
- Proficiency in English (both verbal and written).
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and industrial settings.
- Willingness to work in elevated areas (4 feet or higher).
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays with prior notice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience troubleshooting mechanical components and systems.
- Forklift operating experience (internal training provided).
- High School diploma or GED.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in food manufacturing or similar roles.
- Ability to perform maintenance trades such as lubrication and handling hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Basic mathematical skills for measuring ingredients and tracking inventory.
