Your Role as a Bellperson
As a Bellperson, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional service to our guests. Here’s what your responsibilities will include:
1. Welcoming Guests
- Greet every guest with professionalism and warmth, ensuring their first and last impressions of the hotel are extraordinary.
2. Luggage and Amenity Delivery
- Handle the delivery and retrieval of luggage and hotel amenities efficiently and safely.
3. Guest Assistance
- Assist guests with inquiries, directions, and recommendations for local restaurants and attractions.
4. Lobby Maintenance
- Ensure the hotel lobby is clean and presentable at all times.
5. Support Concierge Team
- Work closely with the Lobby Concierge Team to enhance the overall guest experience.
6. Safety and Professionalism
- Maintain a safe environment for colleagues and guests by adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications for Success
To excel as a Bellperson, you should meet the following requirements:
1. Strong Communication Skills
- Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) is essential.
2. Outgoing Personality
- A friendly and engaging demeanor is key to creating a welcoming atmosphere.
3. Customer Service Experience
- Previous experience in customer-facing roles is preferred.
4. Knowledge of Local Attractions
- Familiarity with Ottawa’s restaurants and attractions to provide valuable recommendations to guests.
5. Physical Stamina
- Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and handle luggage carts weighing up to 500 lbs during shifts.
6. Team Player
- A collaborative mindset to work effectively with the Concierge Team and other departments.
A Day in the Life of a Bellperson
Start your shift by preparing the lobby for the day, ensuring it is clean and organized. As guests arrive, warmly welcome them, assist with their luggage, and provide directions or recommendations. Throughout the day, maintain constant communication with the Concierge Team, respond to guest requests promptly, and ensure a seamless guest experience. By the end of your shift, you’ll leave knowing you’ve made a lasting impression on visitors from around the world.
