Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance and Repair

  • Inspect, repair, and maintain mechanical systems, including conveyors, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance to ensure minimal downtime.

Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose mechanical issues, identify solutions, and implement reliable repairs to optimize mill performance.
  • Work under pressure to ensure continuous operations during emergencies.

Time Management and Safety

  • Assess when to assemble, dismantle, or replace machinery based on equipment conditions.
  • Follow strict safety protocols to create a secure work environment for all team members.

Parts Management

  • Identify required parts for repairs and ensure timely ordering to minimize delays.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a skilled Certified Millwright with a strong sense of urgency, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, industrial setting.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Red Seal Certification (required).
  • Experience with heavy machinery in industrial manufacturing or lumber operations (an asset).
  • Knowledge of welding procedures and equipment reliability (preferred).
  • Physical ability to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and troubleshoot efficiently.

Experience

  • Prior experience in sawmills, lumber mills, or industrial manufacturing is an asset.
  • Welding experience is considered an advantage.
