Job Description
The role of the Class II Caretaker involves maintaining and ensuring the cleanliness, upkeep, and preventive maintenance of educational facilities. This includes organizing maintenance tasks, overseeing repairs, and inspecting systems to maintain a safe and functional environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness of school premises and perform general maintenance tasks.
- Inspection and Repairs: Inspect lighting, heating, and ventilation systems to ensure smooth operations and identify potential issues.
- Equipment Upkeep: Maintain apparatus and equipment in good condition; handle minor repairs or temporary fixes as required.
- Preventive Maintenance: Oversee and perform the preventive upkeep of heating, lighting, and security systems.
- Security Management: Ensure the security of the premises, protecting against fire and theft risks.
- Visitor Monitoring: Supervise the comings and goings of students, staff, and visitors when necessary.
- Resource Management: Order and purchase materials, products, and equipment needed for maintenance tasks while managing inventory.
- Supervision: Coordinate and oversee the work of other nonspecialized maintenance employees.
- Setup Assistance: Prepare rooms or halls for events as required.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure proper storage, use, and disposal of maintenance products and suggest improvements for work methods.
Desired Profile
Experience
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in maintenance or facility management roles.
Skills and Competencies
- Technical Knowledge: General understanding of heating, ventilation, lighting, and alarm systems.
- Building Trades: Basic knowledge of building repair and maintenance tasks such as carpentry and plumbing.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to carry out minor repairs and identify maintenance needs.
- Organization: Efficiently plan and carry out maintenance tasks.
