Job Description

As a Food Service I, you will play a vital role in preparing, packaging, and delivering nutritious meals while maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards. You will be responsible for assembling food trays, handling food supplies, cleaning industrial food service equipment, and delivering meals to patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation and Handling

• Prepare, portion, and package food items according to established guidelines.
• Assemble food trays with accuracy to meet meal delivery standards.

Service and Delivery

• Deliver meals to patients and staff while ensuring timely and accurate service.
• Communicate effectively with patients, hospital staff, and other departments.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance

• Operate and clean industrial food service equipment safely.
• Adhere to food safety standards, ensuring cleanliness and sanitization.

Team Collaboration and Customer Service

• Work collaboratively with the team to maintain efficiency and quality in food services.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Skills and Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Ability to lift to 46 lbs and push/pull meal carts weighing up to 250 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Strong communication skills in English (read/write/speak).

Experience

• Prior experience in food service is preferred.
• Experience in customer service or working in healthcare settings is an asset.
