Job Description

As the Head of Estates, you will drive the strategic management of Poundland & Dealz’s property portfolio. Reporting to the Property Director, you will lead estate operations, ensure cost-efficiency, and support the company’s growth objectives.

This leadership role requires expertise in commercial real estate, lease negotiations, and compliance, coupled with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Estate Management

• Develop and implement an estate strategy aligned with company growth goals.
• Identify and acquire new property opportunities to expand the business.
• Optimize existing property portfolios to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

2. Lease and Property Management

• Negotiate leases, renewals, and terminations to benefit the company.
• Manage landlord relationships to ensure smooth operations.
• Oversee new store site selection, development, and opening processes.

3. Team Leadership and Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Estates team to achieve high performance.
• Ensure team compliance with legal, regulatory, and environmental standards.

4. Financial Management

• Prepare and manage the estate’s budget, including accurate forecasting.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining quality.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with finance, operations, and legal teams.
• Provide regular updates on property performance and strategic initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Estate Management, Real Estate, or related fields (MRICS/FRICS preferred).
• Strong knowledge of commercial real estate, lease negotiation, and property law.
• Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.

Experience

• 8–10 years in estate management, preferably in the retail sector.
• Proven track record of leading teams and delivering strategic goals.
