Job Description

As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will:

  • Provide personal assistance and support services to patients requiring short-term or ongoing care.
  • Assist patients with hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs.
  • Observe and report on patient mood, health, and well-being to ensure effective care plans.
  • Collaborate with nurses and caregivers to deliver routine care according to facility policies.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Skills and Qualifications

  • Completion of a Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire.
  • Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
  • Nursing students who meet specific practicum requirements may also qualify.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and observational skills.

Experience

  • Preferred experience in acute care settings.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
