Job Description

This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide legal expertise in a dynamic media organization. As a Legal Advisor, you will oversee contract management, copyright analysis, and collaboration on international legal matters.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Documentation and Contract Negotiation

• Review, draft, and negotiate distribution, broadcasting, and licensing agreements.
• Participate in contract discussions to support the global distribution of DW’s programs.

Legal Consultation and Management

• Offer legal advice on civil, copyright, and trademark law.
• Develop and maintain contract templates and model agreements.
• Manage licensing details and contract records in relevant systems.

Collaborative Engagement

• Provide strategic advice to the Sales and Distribution team.
• Respond to inquiries on legal matters and ensure compliance with copyright laws.

Candidate Profile

Deutsche Welle seeks a proactive, detail-oriented individual with expertise in copyright and licensing law.

Skills and Qualifications

• Fully qualified lawyer or degree in law with a focus on copyright/licensing law.
• Knowledge of civil and copyright law.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Fluency in German and English, including legal terminology.

Experience

• Experience in contract law, especially in the media industry, is a plus.
• Familiarity with drafting international agreements is advantageous.
