Job Description

As a Mechanical Designer, your role will involve drafting, designing, and ensuring product compliance with industry standards. You will work on multiple projects, manage engineering documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

1. CAD Drafting & Documentation Coordination

  • Develop production and assembly drawings, parts lists, and bills of material from engineering sketches and contract specifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation by filing, printing, and tracking drawings, sketches, and all related engineering files.
  • Ensure timely actions are taken on non-conformances related to manufactured or purchased products.

2. Mechanical Design & Project Management

  • Assist in the design of various mechanical components and systems, such as machine design, stress analysis, thermodynamics, and pressure vessel design.
  • Stay updated on industry-specific codes (CAD, ASME, ANSI, API, DIN, ISO) to ensure designs adhere to engineering standards.
  • Review designs, sketches, and manufacturing details to ensure products meet customer requirements.

3. Quality & Compliance

  • Follow company management systems, including quality, health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Participate in workplace quality, health, safety, and environmental training.
  • Report any hazards, injuries, or near-misses to management.

4. Team Collaboration & Project Handling

  • Work efficiently within a team, including engineers, suppliers, designers, and manufacturing personnel.
  • Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate on special tasks and contribute to project groups as needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design and drafting.
  • Detailed-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a fluid, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.

Experience

  • Prior experience in mechanical design, project management, and drafting.
