Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is seeking a Mill Hand for a temporary 3-month position at our Feed Plant in Calgary, Alberta. This entry-level job provides excellent hands-on experience and on-the-job training.

Job Description

As a Mill Hand, you will work in a manufacturing environment, assisting with various tasks related to feed production. You will be responsible for filling 20kg bags with animal feed, operating production equipment, performing regular cleaning tasks, and assisting with ingredient handling. You will also receive training to ensure proper safety and maintenance standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

1. Filling and Stacking Feed Bags

• Fill 20kg bags with animal feed and stack them on pallets for distribution.

2. Operating Production Equipment

• Operate production equipment such as a pellet mill, mixer, hammer mill, block press, and bagger.
• Ensure all safety documentation is properly completed.

3. Plant Cleaning

• Perform regular cleaning duties to maintain a safe and sanitary working environment.

4. Handling Incoming Ingredients

• Assist in handling and placing incoming ingredients or products for resale into stock.

5. Daily Maintenance Tasks

• Support with daily service maintenance duties on production equipment as required.

6. Other Duties as Assigned

• Assist with additional tasks related to production and operations as needed.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• A Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.

Experience

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or manual labor is preferred.
