Job Overview
Position: Millwright
Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada
Salary: $45.01 per hour
Shift: Night shift (7 pm – 7 am), including weekends
As a Millwright at Saputo, you will play a vital role in maintaining and troubleshooting manufacturing and packaging equipment. Your focus will be on minimizing downtime through preventive, reactive, and predictive maintenance. Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Perform reactive, predictive, and preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and ensure production continuity.
- Install new equipment, make modifications, and repair parts as needed.
2. Collaboration and Safety
- Work collaboratively with other trade groups to complete maintenance and project assignments.
- Follow strict company policies and safety procedures, ensuring a high standard of food safety.
- Continuously improve maintenance standards and processes to support the production environment.
3. Documentation and Reporting
- Complete necessary documentation, including work orders and maintenance logs.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance are recorded accurately in the system.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Certification: Millwright with a journeyperson ticket/license or certificate of qualification.
- Experience: Proven hands-on experience, preferably in the food industry or high-speed packaging plant.
- Specialized Skills: Sanitary stainless steel welding, electrical and PLC troubleshooting, refrigeration, and air handling systems experience.
- Additional Certifications: 4th Class Power Engineering or Steam Boiler experience is a plus.
- Shift Availability: Willing to work night shifts (7 pm – 7 am) and weekends.
Soft Skills
- Strong troubleshooting abilities with a collaborative approach.
- Self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to complete computer-based work orders.
- Ability to work efficiently and safely in a high-paced production environment.
