Key Responsibilities
Prepare, Dispense, and Control Medications
- Accurately prepare, dispense, and control medications and over-the-counter supplements.
- Ensure timely delivery of prescriptions to meet patient needs.
Customer Counseling and Interaction
- Counsel patients about their medications, offering friendly and proactive advice.
- Provide education and create awareness through public relations initiatives like health clinics and public health days.
Inventory and Cost Control
- Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels for medications and supplements.
- Review and control costs within the pharmacy department.
Training and Mentorship
- Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to new and existing pharmacy colleagues (technicians, interns, students).
- Offer continuous support and guidance to ensure a high standard of service.
Problem Resolution
- Address and resolve patient and doctor’s issues in a timely and positive manner.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy is mandatory.
- A valid Class A Pharmacist license is essential.
Professional Skills and Experience
- Strong customer relations skills with a professional demeanor.
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage performance.
- Ability to build and grow business through community-based marketing strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the experience of creating and executing action plans.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in computer systems like Healthwatch and/or KROLL Pharmacy Computer systems is an asset.
- Strong personal computing skills.
