Job Description

As a Maintenance Planner at Cargill in Berlin, your primary responsibility will be to plan routine and corrective maintenance for Cargill’s production facilities. You will ensure the smooth operation of the plant equipment, from bean intake to cocoa mass storage and loading. This position requires the development of detailed work schedules to optimize contractor and workforce efficiency, contributing to high-quality maintenance practices.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Work Order Preparation

  • Research, gather data, and collect feedback to create detailed work orders.
  • Continuously review and improve existing work orders to enhance maintenance efficiency.
  • Initiate procurement of materials, specialized tools, and custom-made items for work orders.
  • Coordinate with the Supply Chain and Production departments to schedule downtime and ensure material availability.

2. Planning and Execution

  • Plan the execution of basic repair procedures and maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with best practices.
  • Ensure that work permits and risk assessments are in place before work commences.
  • Review completed work orders for accuracy, updating equipment history as needed.

3. Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with senior team members to identify opportunities for reliability improvements and reduced production downtime.
  • Analyze preventive and corrective work orders and suggest improvements.
  • Provide regular updates to maintenance managers about work progress and upcoming maintenance schedules.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience (e.g., technician or master craftsman).
  • Knowledge of technical standards, Good Hygiene Practices, and maintenance principles.
  • Proficiency in German (C-level preferred).
  • Strong understanding of maintenance concepts, techniques, and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience monitoring technical work performed by contractors.
  • Advanced data analysis skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Minitab, and Power BI.
  • Experience in creating work reports and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
