What You’ll Be Doing

Key Responsibilities

• Code Review & Maintenance: Conduct ongoing reviews of deployed application code to identify areas with technical debt and initiate corrective actions.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior and mid-level developers, helping them resolve complex issues and improve their technical knowledge.
• Collaboration: Participate in the design and development of Android application solutions, particularly for complex projects.
• Documentation & Development: Produce clear and efficient software implementations and design documentation.
• Innovation: Contribute to the technology roadmap, staying up-to-date with trends in application development and recommending solutions for the future of Pets at Home’s app technology.

What We’re Looking For

Skills & Experience

• Android Software Development: Proven experience in Android development with a strong understanding of the Android ecosystem.
• Agile Methodology: Solid knowledge of Agile development methodologies and software/project lifecycles.
• Kotlin & Jetpack Compose: Hands-on experience in developing Android features using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. Knowledge of Gradle is a plus.
• User Experience Focus: A customer-focused mindset, with a passion for creating great user experiences.
• Test-Driven Development (TDD): Experience with TDD, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud services like Azure DevOps.
• Communication Skills: Excellent ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
