About the Technology, Digital, and Data Team

MinterEllison’s Technology, Digital, and Data team seeks a Senior Associate for its Brisbane office. The role focuses on technology and intellectual property (IP) transactions, commercialization, collaboration, and innovation for clients in the public and private sectors.

Role Responsibilities

As a Senior Associate, you will:

1. Regulatory and Commercial Advice

• Draft and review complex contracts, including QITC templates.
• Provide advisory services for Australia’s intellectual property, data privacy, franchising, and critical infrastructure laws.
• Deliver compliance strategies for privacy, AI, and emerging data regulations.

2. Client Collaboration

• Work with government and corporate clients on their most complex projects.
• Build enduring relationships with peers, clients, and industry experts.
• Collaborate with internal and cross-office teams on multifaceted cases.

3. Innovation and Team Leadership

• Partner with MinterEllison’s technology, cyber, and risk consultants.
• Lead teams and manage client deliverables under tight timelines.
• Engage in business development initiatives, including client training, presentations, and publications.

Qualifications and Skills

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

Essential Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of post-admission legal experience.
• Qualification in Australia, the UK, or New Zealand.
• Strong expertise in commercial and regulatory law.

Preferred Experience:

• Front-end technology transactions, including IP, data privacy, and AI advisory work.
• Demonstrated ability to draft contracts (e.g., QITC).
• Experience providing regulatory advice on complex matters.
