Job Description

As a Sorter Inspector at McCain Foods in Burley, Idaho, your role will be critical in maintaining the high standards of McCain’s potato processing line. You will work a 12-hour night shift and be responsible for trimming, inspecting, and sorting the line flow while ensuring that major defects or foreign materials are removed from potatoes and potato products. The position involves rotation between processing and packaging positions, ensuring consistency in product size, color, and shape.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Product Inspection and Sorting
    • Inspect and sort potato products by size, color, and shape.
    • Remove defects and foreign materials to ensure the highest quality.
    • Ensure products meet both visual and measured quality parameters.
  2. Trimming and Handling
    • Trim off unwanted portions of potato products to meet the required quality standards.
    • Rotate between various positions on the production line to maintain an efficient workflow.
  3. Quality Control
    • Conduct regular checks to ensure that the product meets McCain’s high-quality standards.
    • Apply knowledge of food safety and quality control procedures.
  4. Safety and Hygiene
