Job Description
As a Trading Operations Engineer at Cargill, you will work in our Quantitative Execution Platform (QEP) team, responsible for building and maintaining trading systems for futures and options. This role involves algorithmic trading, providing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level support for the QEP system, and collaborating closely with development and trading teams to ensure system stability, functionality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
1. User Support and Query Management
- Handle user queries related to the trading system, providing in-depth technical and business analysis.
- Manage the incoming and outgoing data feeds to clients, brokers, and vendors.
2. System Monitoring and Reporting
- Use tools like ITRS Geneos, Grafana, and OpsGenie to monitor the system and ensure smooth operation.
- Create and schedule End of Day (EOD) reports and manage system performance.
3. Problem Identification and Solution Implementation
- Identify and manage system issues, collaborating with the development team to resolve and improve the platform’s stability.
- Proactively address risks and enhance system monitoring through continuous improvements.
4. User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Participate in UAT for new applications before they are handed off for production deployment.
- Respond promptly to trading desk inquiries, escalating to the appropriate team members when needed.
5. Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the management team.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum of four years of relevant work experience.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of the agricultural trading business.
- Experience with relational and distributed data systems.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools for reporting and insights.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand complex business requirements and collaborate with internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in application support within a financial environment.
- Strong knowledge of trading operations or a keen interest in learning the business.
- Familiarity with FIX Protocol, ITRS Geneos, Grafana, OpsGenie, SQL (MySQL), and UNIX shell.
- Experience with Kubernetes container management, Bash scripting, and Git/GitHub.
- Ability to manage complex scenarios and deliver solutions with a sense of urgency.
- Strong communication skills in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
