Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties

  • Safely operate trucks for the transportation of goods across various locations within North America.
  • Ensure that the cargo is properly secured and safely transported to its destination.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and operational standards.
  • Maintain accurate logs of work hours, fuel consumption, and cargo deliveries.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations while operating the vehicle.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, team members, and clients to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
  • Complete required paperwork and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Customer Service and Communication

  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients or stakeholders during deliveries.
  • Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude in all interactions.
  • Work closely with logistics teams to coordinate transportation schedules.

Skills and Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL): Required to operate company trucks.
  • Safe Driving Practices: Knowledge and commitment to safety and traffic regulations.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to handle minor issues and emergencies on the road.
  • Physical Stamina: Capability to drive for extended hours and load/unload cargo when necessary.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with long-distance trucking or working in a similar role within the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Knowledge of truck maintenance and repair procedures.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: At least 1-3 years of experience in truck driving or related field preferred.
  • Experience operating large vehicles in various weather conditions and terrains.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and drive for long periods.
  • Lift and carry cargo, when needed.
  • Ability to maintain focus and operate the vehicle safely, even during long trips.

Work Environment

  • Work in various locations across North America, depending on the assigned route.
  • Exposure to different weather conditions while driving.
  • Periodic overnight travel may be required, depending on the route.
