Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), the global leader in visual effects, seeks a talented VFX Editor to join its Vancouver team.
Job Description
As a VFX Editor at ILM Vancouver, you will handle all aspects of editorial work, collaborating with supervisors and production teams on feature and episodic projects. You’ll maintain editorial timelines, manage databases, and ensure all client and internal updates are processed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
1. Communication and Collaboration
- Liaise with production teams and client editorial to track all stages of cuts and iterations.
- Provide feedback and updates to clients and team members.
2. Media Management
- QC and ingest plates, consolidated media, and on-set reference materials.
- Maintained in-house editorial databases and adjusted cut lengths based on client updates.
3. Deliverables Preparation
- Prepare Avid media for upload and deliverables for client reviews.
- Output sequence movie files, audio files, and EDLs for CG as specified by production.
4. Special Projects and Wrap-Up
- Handle wrap-up tasks, including archiving and editing finals or awards reels.
- Provide visual references and assist with bidding reels or other special projects.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Disney’s ILM seeks a proactive and skilled VFX Editor with strong technical abilities and a collaborative mindset.
Skills and Qualifications
- Comprehensive understanding of editorial workflows, formats, codecs, and transcoding.
- Proficiency in tools such as Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Experience
- Minimum 3+ years as a VFX Editor in a production or VFX facility environment.
- Familiarity with performance capture and witness camera workflows is a plus.
