Job Description
As a Receiver at Staples Canada, you are responsible for ensuring accurate receiving, processing, and organization of merchandise to maintain a seamless shopping experience. You collaborate with your team to coordinate product flow and support the store’s operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
1. Merchandise Coordination
- Receive, process, and organize all merchandise arriving at the store.
- Manage product flow to the sales floor and assist in placement when needed.
- Monitor and document outgoing shipments and ensure timely processing.
2. Back-End Operations
- Maintain the receiving area and warehouse standards.
- Manage back-end paperwork, including Purchase Orders (POs), courier forms, and transfers.
- Investigate discrepancies related to receiving documents and ensure accurate records.
- Oversee damaged products and handle Return to Vendor (RTV) processes as required.
3. Stock Replenishment and Display
- Update signage and price changes for merchandise and vendor displays.
- Maintain inventory levels and ensure shelves are well-stocked.
4. Safety and Cleanliness
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment for staff, delivery drivers, and customers.
- Follow loss prevention measures and operational protocols to maintain store standards.
5. Customer Engagement
- Assist customers on the sales floor by providing solutions and product information.
- Engage with delivery drivers in a friendly and professional manner.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: 1 year of related experience is preferred.
- Education: Working towards or completion of high school is preferred.
- Attributes:
- Curious, approachable, and passionate.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to engage effectively with drivers and customers.
- Forklift training and certification may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Moderate physical effort, including operating equipment, climbing ladders, and moving freight.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and minor physical discomfort due to delivery trucks.
- Ability to work for extended periods without breaks during peak hours.
