Key Responsibilities
Data Product Development
- Design, build, and enhance scalable data products in the purchasing data domain using modern tools like Snowflake, Databricks, and Kubernetes.
- Create and maintain data pipelines and assets tailored to meet stakeholder needs within and beyond the supply chain organization.
Data Management and Insights
- Perform advanced data transformations using SQL and Python to optimize data processing and ensure high-quality outputs.
- Educate business stakeholders about data products through demonstrations and detailed documentation in the enterprise data catalog.
Collaboration and Mentorship
- Work closely with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to design and deploy data pipelines.
- Mentor junior engineers and analysts to support their professional growth and enhance team performance.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate should demonstrate expertise in data engineering, strong technical skills, and the ability to align data projects with business needs.
Skills and Tools:
- Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced SQL for complex data transformations.
- Proficiency in Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Airflow, and Snowflake.
- Experience with data orchestration tools like DAGs, DBT, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or Circle CI).
- Supply Chain Knowledge:
- Understanding of B2B supply chain processes, including purchase orders, supplier fulfillment, delivery, and payment cycles.
- Data Management Expertise:
- Hands-on experience in managing structured and unstructured data.
- Familiarity with data quality processes like standardization, transformation, and rationalization.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may also be considered.
Experience:
- 5+ years in data engineering or machine learning-focused data projects.
- Experience leading data integration efforts for internal and external sources.
