Jealous Fruits is seeking a skilled Unitec Operator to manage the auto-palletizing machines and streamline the final step in the cherry-packing process at its state-of-the-art facility in Kelowna, BC.

Job Description

As a Unitec Operator at Jealous Fruits, you will play a critical role in the final step of the cherry-packing process. You will operate the Unitec Automatic Palletizing machines to place packed products onto pallets with precision and efficiency. Working closely with the Plant Operations Manager and Palletizing Coordinator, you will ensure the smooth functioning of equipment and maintain high standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Equipment Maintenance and Calibration

• Supervise and perform maintenance of Unitec machines.
• Monitor and adjust machine settings for optimal performance.

2. Efficient Operations

• Collaborate with the Palletizing Coordinator to optimize machine output.
• Maintain accurate traceability during lot and variety changes.

3. Inventory Coordination

• Ensure all pallets are counted and recorded correctly.

4. Safety and Quality

• Adhere to safety protocols while maintaining high-quality standards in a cold (~0°C) environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Jealous Fruits seeks candidates who are passionate about agricultural operations and can work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proficiency in Unitec equipment or similar machinery.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Fluency in English or Spanish preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of one season operating fruit packing or palletizing equipment.
• Experience managing lines with over 8 tons/hour capacity is an advantage.
