Key Responsibilities
1. Cheese Packing and Equipment Operation
- Operate cheese packing equipment following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting during downtime or breakdowns to keep production running smoothly.
- Manually handle and box cheese weighing up to 20kg, processing up to 50 tonnes of cheese at 10 tonnes per hour.
2. Quality Control and Process Monitoring
- Maintain high cheese quality by monitoring the packaging process and taking corrective actions when necessary.
- Keep accurate records of the production process, ensuring all procedures align with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Identify and suggest improvements to enhance cheese packaging efficiency and quality.
3. Hygiene and Housekeeping
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained within the cheese department.
- Follow food safety regulations and schedules to ensure a safe working environment.
4. Team Collaboration and Communication
- Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team to ensure production targets are met.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to address any operational issues promptly.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Educational Background
- No formal degree is required, but experience within food production environments is essential.
- A passion for the food industry and a keen interest in food production is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
- Basic IT skills: Ability to use a PC/HMI (keyboard skills), with knowledge of Word and Excel as an advantage.
- Problem-solving skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a fast-paced production environment.
Food Production Experience
- Prior experience in a food production or preparation environment is essential.
- Familiarity with food hygiene practices and health & safety standards.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Efficient, reliable, and able to follow safety protocols and production instructions carefully.
