Barnardo’s is seeking a passionate and experienced Course Trainer to deliver training on various subjects related to SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). This flexible role provides an opportunity to work with children, young people, and families across East Riding through Barnardo’s DSI Service.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver prepared training packages to Barnardo’s staff, parents, carers, and professionals.
• Topics include Autism and Sensory Awareness, Behavior Intervention, Mental Health, Child Protection, and Best Practices for Additional Needs.
• Use both face-to-face and online training methods, often during evenings and weekends.
• Stay updated on policies, procedures, and guidance to ensure training relevance.
• Gather feedback from training participants and incorporate it for continuous improvement.

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Experience working with children, young people, and families with SEND.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures for children and young people.
• Familiarity with training delivery and engaging audiences.

Skills

• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Understanding of SEND and associated challenges.
• Ability to promote equality, diversity, and inclusion.
• Flexibility in working evenings and weekends as needed.

Additional Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for work.
