Job Description

As a Line Mechanic at Silgan Plastics, your primary role will involve identifying and fixing mechanical issues in the production line. You will be responsible for taking equipment apart, troubleshooting, and performing repairs or replacements on worn-out parts. Primary Responsibilities

1. Machinery Maintenance

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues in production equipment.
• Identify problems in machinery and take apart components for inspection and repair.
• Replace worn parts and ensure all systems run efficiently.

2. Hands-On Problem Solving

• Identify the root causes of mechanical issues and find effective solutions.
• Work with a variety of machinery, including industrial machines, cars, and farm equipment.

3. Preventive Maintenance

• Conduct routine maintenance checks to prevent future mechanical failures.
• Ensure equipment is running at optimal performance levels.

4. Team Collaboration

• Work closely with team members to ensure the timely repair of production line equipment.
• Follow safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.

5. Shift Work

• Work 12-hour shifts with a 2-2-3 schedule.
• Overtime opportunities are available.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience

• Previous experience with machinery, automotive repair, or farm equipment is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems.

Skills

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose mechanical issues.
• Hands-on experience in fixing and assembling mechanical systems.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently during shift hours.
