General Functions and Key Duties
Primary Responsibilities
- Safety First: Follow all company safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Equipment Management: Ensure all necessary equipment, such as extruders and fans, are properly functioning and meet operational specifications.
- Batch Monitoring: Read and follow batch card instructions, checking the hopper to ensure the correct compound is used.
- Extruder Setup: Ensure proper tooling is in the extruder and that heaters and cooling fans are operating correctly.
- Quality Control: Monitor the laser mike to maintain product specifications and quality.
- Reel Management: Change reels of hose and store them in designated areas to prevent product damage and ensure smooth operations.
- Work Area Organization: Maintain a clean, neat, and organized work area to improve efficiency and safety.
Skills and Experience Requirements
Required Skills
- Forklift Operation: This job may require the operation of a forklift to move materials.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift to 25 lbs for up to 3 hours per shift and carry objects up to 15 lbs.
- Hand Dexterity: Fine manipulation of the hands is essential for this role.
- Color Vision: The ability to identify and distinguish colors is required to ensure product quality.
Experience
- At least 3 years of production experience is preferred.
- Ability to use company computer systems for tracking and reporting production data.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a high-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills across multiple groups and levels within the company.
Educational Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Preferred: Work Keys certification and any related production certifications or training.
